SUSTAINABILITY AT KEYA ARUR
While no fashion business can be 100% sustainable, we can try our best to be fully transparent about our processes and aim to improve wherever possible.
The fashion industry is the third most polluting industry and contributes to 10% of the world's annual carbon footprint. 85% of all textile waste ends up in landfill, with some fast fashion labels using cheap synthetic fibres, which are only made to last around 7-10 wears. We are a slow fashion brand, dropping pieces in limited quantities, using good quality, reliable fibres.
What does slow fashion mean at Keya Arur?
- We produce in small, limited drops, using small batches of fabric. Ensuring that we do not over purchase, as well as creating one-off, unique pieces of clothing. This also means that sometimes fabrics are not repeated, if we have used up the entire roll.
- We are entirely made to order! This means that we only make pieces once we receive your order. This reduces over ordering of un-purchased pieces, again limiting any contribution of unwanted clothing into landfill.
- We use high quality fabrics and produce our clothing with quality finishes, such as French seams, to extend the life span of your garment.
- Our shipping bags are made from fully biodegradable and compostable materials.
Keya Arur is committed to being an exclusive and sustainable brand, creating detailed and high quality pieces. We promise to continue producing limited drops, so we can focus on improving and growing our brand ethically and sustainably.
